Rohingya Refugees need your help

The Rohingya refugees have been globally recognized as one of the most persecuted communities in recent years. Relentless discrimination and ethnic cleansing have left them in a state of perpetual trauma and despair. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes while witnessing the death of their loved ones in what is being recognized by the international community as a "genocide."  In March 2022, the United States government has formally determined that the Myanmar military committed the crime of genocide and crimes against humanity against ethnic Rohingya Muslims.

The Cox's Bazar region in Bangladesh houses approximately 1 million Rohingya refugees. Generations upon generations of individuals, and more recently in 2016, are being born in the camps with limited access to basic necessities such as food, clothing, and water. An even greater need for Rohingya refugee children is access to education. Without a proper learning environment, Rohingya students will not have the opportunity to pursue the careers they have always dreamt of. Currently, they are being deprived of education and are operating with minimal schooling resources in their learning centres.

In collaboration with Youths for Rohingya Development, MILO Canada is honoured to launch a new project this year focused on creating a healthy learning environment for Rohingya children in the Cox's Bazar refugee camps. Donations will go towards funding textbooks, desks, stationery, and learning centres in the camps.

This fundraiser is now completed. We have raised $1K thanks to your generosity.
